The 2005 International Congress of Meat Science and Technology is sponsored by
the American Meat Science Association and the United States Department of
Agriculture. The hosts have planned compelling discussion sessions and
workshops.
Pertinent to its theme, “Exploring the Wide World of Meat,” the Congress will focus on
meat science issues that are major forces in today´s global marketplace. General plenary sessions will be led by meat scientists well-versed in:
Meat and Health
Product Quality
Food Safety
Packaging & Processing
Proteomics & Genomics
International Marketing Issues
In smaller breakout sessions, Congress participants will explore current meat
science research topics in-depth. Intended to stimulate discussion among meat
science authorities in each field, workshops will also serve as forums for participants´
research findings.
To promote discussion, scientists will be encouraged to participate in workshops
most relevant to their fields, especially those for which they may have contributed
papers. Poster presentations will also complement the daily scientific sessions.
Scientists will be able to discuss related topics in smaller groups at the
Reciprocation Fair on Thursday.
Accompaning persons are invited to attend the opening and closing ceremonies.
