ICC Workshop: The safety of animal feed and its contribution to the human food chain

September 2, 2007 to September 5, 2007
United Kingdom
General Info
September 2 - 5, 2007
Hotel Marriott Glasgow
Glasgow, United Kingdom

Organized by ICC in cooperation with BakeTran, from September 2 - 5, 2007, the ICC Workshop "The safety of animal feed and its contribution to the human food chain" will be held at the Hotel Marriott Glasgow (UK).

The workshop will feature a series of presentations by analytical test kit suppliers and key workers in the area of animal feed production and animal husbandry, and will provide an overview of the safety of animal feed and its contribution to human nutrition.

Topics will include:

• The potential risks associated with animal feed.
• The detection of mycotoxins and other undesirable contaminants in animal feed.
• The impact of mycotoxins and other contaminants on animal and fish development.
• The safe storage and processing of animal feeds.
• Links between animal feed and human nutrition.

Who should attend?
This workshop is suitable for the manufacturers of animal feed and for those who are engaged in the analytical processes to ensure the safety of such materials. It will also be of interest to individuals in the study of animal husbandry and human nutrition. Areas will cover analysis of mycotoxins and other feed contaminants, rapid methods, feed industry, grain board, animal production, EU or other international Research Projects.

Structure of the workshop
Two full days will offer lectures and round table discussions, networking opportunities in the product and services exhibition area and poster presentations. The social event in the evening after the first day will give ample opportunity to strengthen business contacts and establish new collaborations. A technical tour will give you insight in the production scheme and research programme of a major test kit provider for mycotoxin analysis. Day 3 will give practical training in sampling and analysis of mycotoxins in feed stuffs.
