On behalf of the Society for Mycotoxin Research, I would like to invite all of you to the 30th Mycotoxin-Workshop to be held in Utrecht (The Netherlands) from April 28th to April 30th, 2008.
The Mycotoxin Workshop has a long-standing tradition, being held each year between Monday morning and Wednesday afternoon in the calendar week in which Ascension Day is on Thursday. The Workshop aims to bring together scientist with an interest in mycotoxin research for an exchange of their latest insights and techniques related to this special field.
The Veterinary Faculty and myself are honoured to host the 30th Workshop in Utrecht. Utrecht is one of the traditional University cities of the Netherlands, and with its large Cathedral in the old town centre and with its canals, bridges and typical Dutch houses, a beautiful place to visit. The workshop will take place outside the city in a Conference Centre called Woudschoten, which offers all technical facilities and sufficient space for poster sessions and a technical exhibition. Located in the pleasant surroundings of the Utrecht´se Heuvelrug it also provides the relaxing atmosphere and privacy that stimulates the interaction and communication between participants. The Conference site can be reached easily by car and by public transport. Shuttles between Utrecht Central station, which is directly connected to Schiphol Airport and the conference site, will be provided on the arrival and departure days. In addition, we will be more than happy to help you make any touristic arrangements outside the official Workshop hours.
The 30th Workshop is an anniversary and milestone for all colleagues with an affinity for the area of Mycotoxin Research. We do hope that the unique location of the Workshop in Utrecht will meet your expectations and make this a memorable event. The Workshop location also offers the chance to learn more about the rich tradition of the Netherlands. It is a nice coincidence that on April 30th, Dutch people celebrate their Queen´s birthday, which will give you the opportunity to see our Royals and to enjoy the nationwide party of the Queen´s night.
Hence, I do hope that the 30th Mycotoxin Workshop will turn out to be a great event, offering you the latest scientific insights into the area of mycotoxin research, the chance to meet and talk to your colleagues active in this area – and last but not least offering you an environment with nice traditions and great hospitality.
We look forward very much to welcoming you in Utrecht in the last week of April, 2008!
