Nutrition Symposium 2015
The AFIA Nutrition Committee will be hosting its annual nutrition symposium on Tuesday, March 10, from 1:30 – 5:30 p.m. on “The Effect of Consumer Preference on Feed and Nutrition.” This seminar is open to all PISC attendees and Spring Committee meeting attendees. An extra registration fee is required. The early-bird registration fee is $100, the regular registration rate is $125 and the on-site rate is $150.
This Nutrition Symposium will include experts from several fields. Michael Formica, Esq., Chief Environmental Counsel at the National Pork Producers Council, will discuss the regulatory environment in Washington D.C. and how certain regulations could impact agriculture. Dr. Brad Johnson of Texas Tech University will speak about growth and development research in meat animals and what it means for the global food supply. Dr. Adam Lock from Michigan State University will talk about the impact of milk on human health. Finally, Stan Erwine of Dairy Management Inc. will discuss our role in communicating with consumers.
