We are organizing conference “Dairy Summit 2013” on 9th & 10th November 2013 in Hyderabad. The main theme of the conference will be “Innovation and Value addition for sustainable Dairy Development: Focus on Production, Processing and Marketing”. The main objective of the conference is Informative and thought provoking discussions on current issues of importance to all facets of the dairy Production, processing, Manufacturing, interests in industry and academia. And there will also be a focus on advancing marketing technology& Innovations in Dairy & Food Sector with various modern technical and management skills. So in this conference we are going to involve Food & Dairy Industry experts, research experts and academia to discuss the sustainability and competitiveness of Dairy industry.

Conference provides an opportunity for dairy people to increase their knowledge of current dairy management techniques. The conference sessions address topical issues ranging from global and regional dairy industry status, the economics and policies underpinning dairy industry in the region, dairy production and processing issues, food safety and nutrition among other very significant subjects aimed at catalyzing development in dairy sector.

Indian Dairy Industry:
India is the world leader in milk production. The Indian dairy industry is rapidly growing, trying to keep pace with the galloping progress around the world. As the world's largest producer and consumer of milk products, India represents one of the world's most lucrative dairy markets. The market for milk products in India is expected to surpass USS 163 Billion by 2017. Driven by steady population growth and rising income, milk consumption continues to rise in India. Dairy market is currently growing at an annual growth rate of around 4 to 7 percent in volume terms per year.

In India rural households consume almost 50 percent of total milk production. The remaining 50% is sold in the domestic market, of the share of milk sold in the domestic market, almost 50 °A) is consumed in fluid form, 35 percent is consumed as traditional products, and 15 percent is consumed for the production of butter, Ghee, milk powder and other processed dairy products.

As per the latest statistics of National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), Milk production in India is 128 million tons by 2011-12. The dairy cooperative network in the country includes 177 milk unions covering 346 districts and over 1,33,000 village-level societies with a total membership of nearly 14 million farmers. All the statistics given above are indicators of a flourishing dairy sector in India providing suitable opportunities to the industries engaged in the dairy business.
