The Symposium
On behalf of the Organizing Committee and the Technical Program Committee, we are pleased to invite you to the 4th International Symposium on Recombined Milk & Milk Products, May 9 - 12, 2004, in Cancun, Mexico. The Symposium, held for the first time in the Western Hemisphere, will provide a global perspective and international forum addressing the interests of milk producers, recombiners and consumers worldwide.
The volume and value of dairy products moving in international trade continue to grow, and almost every nation in the world today has a vested interest in milk powders and recombined milk and milk products. The Symposium theme, "New Challenges, New Ideas", recognizes the continuing transformation and development in recombination in today's world.
As in previous years, the Symposium will facilitate the exchange of the information relevant to the recombined milk and milk products industry. The technical program will feature experts from around the world and information addressing the immediate challenges facing the industry and identifying emerging opportunities. Topics to be covered include production and marketing of value-added milk products, nutritional aspects of dairy powders and concentrates, technology innovation in product, processes and production, and developments and engineering considerations for packaging.
Complementing the Technical Program and Poster Presentations, an informational Trade Exhibit will feature displays from companies serving the global recombination industry.
The Symposium, endorsed by and held under the auspices of the International Dairy Federation (IDF), continues a successful series and was unanimously adopted as an IDF Event for 2004. The selection of the Cancun, Mexico venue was considered particularly attractive, as the Symposium has historically welcomed delegations from the United States, Europe, the Far East, Australia and New Zealand. By meeting in Mexico, the Symposium expects to draw significant attendance from Central and South America
