PANCOSMA Comparative Gut Physiology Symposium: All About Appetitie Regulation
Pancosma will once again sponsor the American Society of Animal Science (ASAS) annual meeting from 8-12 July 2017, Baltimore, MD, USA.

Pancosma is proud to host the symposium “Comparative Gut Physiology Symposium: All About Appetitie Regulation” on the 10th of July.

"Significant progress has been made in the last decade in elucidating the importance of appetite regulation in human health as well as livestock production. The underlying mechanisms include but not limit to the neuronal and endocrine regulation of gut function and responses and interactions with the central nervous system. This symposium will highlight again the neuroendocrine system, "Mini-Brain within the Gut", and the importance of appetite regulation in livestock industry. The comparative approach helps researchers in this area and students by emphasizing the biological commonalities between species and sharing of concepts and methodology".

Timothy Moran, John Hopkins University
The role of gut hormones and hypothalamus in the appetite regulation.

Mike Allen, Michigan State University
Effects of metabolic fuels on appetite control in dairy cows.

Soraya Shirazi-Beechey, University of Liverpool
Role of intestinal nutrient sensors in the secretion of satiety hormones regulating appetite.

Maria de Godoy, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign
Effects of diet and gonadal steroids on appetite regulation of companion animals.

Erin Connor, USDA ARS
Olfactory receptor variation and appetite regulation.

Gary Frost, Imperial College London
Appetite regulation by the interactions of peripheral signals: hormones, nutrients, and neuronal signals.
