World Aquaculture 2003 was one of the most highly attended WAS meetings ever. In 2011, WAS will once again hold World Aquaculture 2011 in Brazil. This time, it will be held in Natal, Brazil and located in the midst of many kinds of aquaculture. In 2003, aquaculture in Brazil was doing well, but now the aquaculture industry is doing even better. Aquaculture now has it's own Ministry in the Brazilian Federal Government - meaning there is a lot of government support for expansion of aquaculture in Brazil.

Natal will be the perfect place for the world aquaculture community to assemble to consider "Aquaculture for a Changing World". The program will explore the many aspects of this topic as well as addressing technical and practical changes in aquaculture.

BEYOND THE CONFERENCE

Natal is in the Northern part of Brazil and has many touristic activities available. Right on the beach there is much to enjoy in Natal - including the delicious local cuisine. Trips to the Amazon area, Fernando de Noronha and other marvelous sites are easy from Natal. Natal is one of the safest cities in the world and the safest in Brazil. Whether you like laying on the beach, snorkeling, diving, trekking or exploring the city, Natal will not disappoint!

Farmer's Day and Industry Sessions

There will be a special Farmers Day with presentations on topics especially of interest to aquaculture farmers. There will also be Industry Sessions throughout the conference with speakers addressing industry concerns.
