DIABOULARD dierrhoea control in pigs

DIABOULARD

Enteric diseases are a common problem in modern pig production worldwide. The diseases are often related to certain animal age categories (e.g. neonatal diarrhea, post-weaning diarrhea) and therefore it is vital to consider the young age diarrhea in order to achieve desired growth rate in pigs.

A healthy gut of a pig is inhabited with hundreds of species of microorganisms, which together form a microbial community often referred to as microflora or, more appropriately, microbiota. Microorganisms begin to colonize the sterile gut of a newborn pig right aer birth, a process called microbial succession. An established gut microbiota is a complex micro-ecosystem composed of approximately 1,000 microorganisms (most of them are bacteria), which co-exist with the pig as the host. When this co-existence (also known as symbiosis) is balanced, the gut of the pig will be normal and healthy and functions well.

But, animals raised in the absence of bacteria, under nutrition or stress conditions show profound retardation in the development of adult gut morphology, digestive physiology and normal immune function.

DIABOULARD, unique combination of selected fatty acids with naturally occurring substances derived from herbs those possess strong anti-diarrheal properes also benefied with medium chain fay acids and probiotics helps in controlling the dierrhoea from different origin. These constituents synergiscally prevent digestive upsets due to bacterial overgrowth or viral infecons.

The biologically active phytocompounds in DIABOULARD acts at various levels, extracellular and intracellular to inhibit diarrhea causing pathogens as well as its enterotoxins MCFA in DIABOULARD have very high bacteriostatic and bactericidal activity against both gram + and gram – bacteria (which is similar to antibiotic growth promoter)

Saccharomyces boulardii exhibits anti-diarrheal effect by three main acons, viz. antimicrobial action, trophic action and immunoregulation.

The antimicrobial action is attributed to direct anti-toxin effects and inhibion of growth and invasion of pathogens. The trophic action includes anti-inflammatory effects, fluid absorption, enzyme expression on microvilli and regulation of many intestinal functions. As a immunoregulatory effect, it preserves intesnal integrity and modulates inflammation preventing bacterial translocation and intestinal lesions.

Mode of Action

DIABOULARD is a polyherbals formulation in treang the diarrhea. It has produced its antidiarrhoeal effect through decreasing intestinal secretions and intraluminal fluid accumulation and antispasmodic effect by inhibing the intestinal motility. The anti diarrheal effect of it exhibit due to the presence of active phytochemical that blocks the prostaglandins, which get activated due to secondary response to pathogen infestation.

Medium chain fatty acids (MCFA) are saturated fatty acids consisting of aliphatic tails of total chain length of either 6 (caproic acid), 8 (caprylic acid), 10 (capric acid) or 12 (lauric acid) carbon atoms and a polar head.

In the low pH environment of the stomach, un-dissociated MCFA are capable of penetrating the phospholipid bilayer of the bacterial cell membrane, thereby destabilizing it. This results in leaking of bacterial cell content on the one hand and entering of MCFA in the bacterial cells. It encounter a near-neutral environment resulting in accumulation of dissociated MCFA molecules and protons in the bacterial cytoplasm. Dissociated MCFA''''''''''''''''s will intercalate with the bacterial DNA, thereby inhibing DNA replication and thus bacterial growth. Intracellular acidification and inhibition of DNA replication will eventually lead to killing of the bacterium.

DIABOULARD contain Saccharomyces boulardii (probioc) that stimulate the microorganisms capable of modifying the GIT environment to improve the health status and feed efficiency in swine.

DIABOULARD a herbal remedy, is incorporated into animal feed to increase animal growth performance, health status and resistance to GIT diseases.
