Hall 12A Pragati Maidan
New Delhi - India

NEO, Asia´s leading exhibition organizer is launching brand new international livestock and dairy expos in Vietnam and India - - two of Asia´s most promising markets. Expos 2006 are designed in part to serve the technological demands of specific countries.

The International Livestock and Dairy Expo India or ILDEX India is South Asia´s biggest and most important international trade exhibition on animal production that any one can´t miss.

Held during 27-29 August 2006 at Hall 9– 11, Pragati Maidan in New Delhi, ILDEX India – with an exhibition space of 9,000 square meters – will bring together all segments of animal production specifically relevant to South Asian region into one place.

ILDEX India thus prioritizes on dairy, poultry, aquaculture, goattery and swine. For exhibitors, ILDEX India is ideal for regional and international suppliers and distributors of all inputs for raising cows, chickens, sheep, goats, pig, fish and shrimp.

Producers of those animals as well as processors & traders visiting the show are willing to see new technology and know-how that are able to help them lifting productivity, quality and food safety of their products.

One might question why ILDEX India has to bring together a range of animal production sectors into one place? Is it just a show that puts together everything without any focus?

Not at all. Each&every livestock sector will have its own cluster for exhibition and other activities such as seminars, product launches and trade talks. So, different sectors will not be mixed. Instead, the exhibition space will be finely organized to ease both exhibitors and visitors to make the best out of the show.

It is difficult to see such an arrangement in any other shows in India or elsewhere in South Asia because of their focus in particular sector.

ILDEX India, however, brings together different sectors in animal production and processing because they are interrelated, particularly in South Asia.

Unlike other parts of Asia, the consumption pattern for animal products in South Asia is unique due to different beliefs, religions, rites and festivals. So, different foods of animal origin are not necessarily competitors but complement each other to fulfill the traditions in consumption.

Growth potential

Animal production is one of the fastest growing economic sectors in South Asia. And it will continue to grow at a fast pace because its large population base is creating a huge demand for animal products.

India alone is home to 1.08 billion people; however, their consumption of animal protein is still very low. But this is changing. The country´s fast growing economy is boosting the financial condition of Indians. This will abiously boost the livestock industry because of the increased conception of milk and the animal protein from lamb, chickens, eggs, fish and shrimp.

According the latest reports of CLFMA (Association of livestock industry in India) and NDRI (National Dairy Research Institute) states India´s livestock industry which accounts for 9% of India´s gross domestic product (GDP) or the total value of goods that the country produces. The livestock sector itself contributes 30% of the GDP from agricultural sector.

India is the world´s biggest milk producer, producing 95.4 million tones in 2005. An Indian drinks 232gms of milk/year or half of the world´s milk per capita consumption.

For the poultry sector, India ranks the sixth largest egg producer in the world, producing around 1,890 thousand tones or 40.4 billion eggs in 2004. India´s egg production, however, is only 44 eggs/person/year or half of the world´s per capita egg consumption. (Source FAO 2004).

India´s poultry meat production amounted to 1.7 million tones in 2004-2005 (source Economic Survey 2004 – 2005) or the world´s 5th largest. However, poultry meat consumption in India is only 1.6kg/year, which is far smaller than the world´s per capita poultry meat consumption of 11kg/year.
