SPACE 2007 Successfully Closes Programme in France - Review

This week, the 21th edition of the renowned French show for the livestock industry took place at the Parc-Expo showground in the SaintJacques district in Rennes.

France's President Nicolas Sarkozy delivered a speech at the international trade fair during the opening day, September 11, 2007.

Held in the city of Rennes every year since 1987, SPACE is located at the heart of the French region where most of the country's pigs are produced. For the last 10 years in succession it has attracted over 100,000 visitors annually, from almost 100 other countries. International visitors attend not only from the rest of Europe, but also from Africa, Asia and the Americas.

Altogether Space expo fills 11 large halls covering almost 5 hectares of area and a surrounding outdoor zone of another 4 hectares, but 2 of the largest halls are always for exhibits aimed at the pig sector.

A new point for the exposition this year was its inclusion of a display area dedicated to new energy sources, and special exhibitions of different breeds of cattle and sheep.
