Description of professional services:
- Best-cost formulation for all phases of swine production (e.g. breeding herd, nursery, and finishing).
- Provide consultation and problem solving for swine production systems, and utilize other professionals and specialists when a multi-disciplinary approach is necessary.
- Seek opportunities to develop cooperative research partnerships that will improve our knowledge and the implementation of management, nutritional, and technological practices for an increasingly efficient and competitive swine industry.
SWINE RESEARCH COORDINATOR - NOVEMBER 2006 - PRESENT

Assist graduate students and faculty with swine production and nutrition research. Supervise, train, and hire part-time undergraduate student help assisting with swine nutrition research. Manage grain particle size analysis and mixer efficiency testing in the Swine Research Laboratory. Assist faculty in managing project grants and accounts.

Formulated swine rations, and assisted customers (and shareholders in Hawkeye Sow Systems) in becoming more efficient producers as a Swine Production Consultant. Provided technical support for feed sales personnel. Developed new swine premix/base-mix/diet products to fit customer needs. Worked with producers, regional veterinarians, and veterinarian partners to strengthen veterinary/client relationships and develop herd health protocols.
