The OIE had issued 26 ALERTS for Avian Influenza in November 2016. In December 2016, more ALERTS have been issued. Germany is the last country to have informed about the low pathogenic H5N1 virus in a flock. It is important that each country takes the necessary measures to prevent the entrance or spread of the virus. Simulation exercises can help to coordinate the actions of the different ministries and private sector concerned. A contingency plan is a good tool to follow in case of an outbreak.
