Lower broiler feed costs with distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS)

Summary
Latest in enzyme technology boosts amino acid digestibility of broiler diets containing up to 18% DDGS.
Broiler producers looking for lower feed costs with distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS) can use the latest developments in enzyme technology reported Dr David Ledoux at the 2009 International Poultry Scientific Forum, Atlanta, USA, 26-27 January 2009.

This is an interesting article. Production of ethanol from corn, put a great pressure on demand of corn for animal feed. This increase in demand resulted in significant increae in price of corn and other grains thus increasing the production cost. If DDGS, a by-product of ethanol production, could be used in big quantities in animal feed with the help of enzymes, it will definitely help to reduce the cost of production by replacing valuable grains in animal diet. We must explore the possibilities of usage of DDGS in animal diets in large quantities.
