This is an excellent article. I've been facing SDS without knowing the cause of deaths in my chickens. I've observed that my chickens were being fed between 1 and 14 days making them grow faster than the usual. This has really cost me, as most of the birds have been wiped out by death. I wish I had seen this article way much before I started rearing broilers.

Thanks for the article and may you continue giving farmers this kind of information. I would request that you also create a Facebook page if you don't have to help farmers with such kind of valuable information.

I started seeing my chicks start dying at 3 to 4 weeks may be one or two when I wake in the morning but this last set I am taking out 4 and 6 for the day just today I took 10 dead ones out from 150 chicks and this is not the first amt.

I am trying to help a friend in Zimbabwe Africa who has SDS in his flock. my Question is Is there any reason the dyeing 5 week old chickens should not be prepared for food? These folks are Hungry and this was a very important effort on their part for survival.
