On the level of field application and from the point of protection is the use of whole virus antigenic mass traditional vaccines better than the vector vaccines .

Recombinant vaccines are being used by certain poultry integrators. CEVA is putting on the market a few recombinant vector vaccines. The Marek''s Disease Virus and the Fowl Pox viruses had been used as protective antigens for NCD; AI; ILT and MG. These vaccines are used at the Hatchery. In Africa, there are few poultry companies which are using these vaccines. They are the vaccines of the future.
