Dear Sir,

Bacteriophages, or phages for short, are ubiquitous in the environment. A critical part of ecosystems across the planet, phages naturally control bacterial populations.

Proteon Pharmaceuticals designs and produces phage products that take advantage of the natural strengths of these organisms. We use modern scientific tools, like full genome sequencing, to assure that the phages we can guarantee the safety of our products. Moreover, phages leave no residues, are non-toxic (except to the targeted bacteria).

Best Regards!

Bacteriophage seems to be a proven technology to tackle bacteria alternative to antibiotics and blind folded use of phytogens.
Unless some body comes up with some mutations and raises zoonotic angles.

Dear Sir,

I totally agree to the point that bacteriophages are proven technology to kill bacteria that is antimicrobial resistance (the only existing alternative that can do this). We at Proteon Pharmaceuticals take adequate safety measures to address the concern of gene mutation, cytotoxicity, genotoxicity and tolerence study. Our products are first-ever bacteriophage based feed additives evaluated by European Food Safety Authority.

Best Regards!

Bacteriophage technology is not new, nothing great about it, i know Dr L R Sood of BE (Hyderabad) and Dr Basu of Kasauli, used to work on effects of phage on Salmonella and Ecoli during the late 1970 and early 1980's, in the lab it gives results, results in the poultry industry are questionable.

Dear Sir,

Proteon has most advanced Artificial Intelligence-supported technology to determine wether phages are lytic or not. When dealing with phages it is important that only phages are used in animal health. We uses cocktail of lytic phages which gives synergistic effect in inhibiting bacterial growth. We do not create cocktail randomly, but the composition is well through that the phages helping each other.

Concept is good but it is bacteria specific, means if we want to control salmonella it needs to use bacteriophage which is working salmonella only, If we need to control E.coli we have to use bacteriophage for E.coli mean specific bacteriophage for specific bacteria,
But in poultry feed many bacteria which are poultry pathogens like clostridium. We can not use bacteriophage which is used against salmonella to kill Clostridium.
If possible one bacteriophage able to kill multiple bacteria then it will best one.
Otherwise needs to use cocktail of bacteriophages which will be results-oriented and economic.
