Excellent Result for CreAMINO® in Moroccan Broilers

Conclusions
  • This on-farm trial, conducted in Morocco, confirmed previous trials
  • Liveweight was increased, FCR reduced in birds fed CreAMINO® when compared to birds fed the Control diets
  • Economic analysis confirmed that using CreAMINO® is cost effective, increasing profitability in this example by 2%
Introduction and objective
Creatine is a naturally occurring component in the animal’s body tissue and plays a central role in energy metabolism. CreAMINO® contains 96% of guanidinoacetic acid being the natural precursor of creatine in energy metabolism, and impacts positively on energy metabolism. Common effects of CreAMINO® supplementation are: decreased feed conversion ratio, and improved weight gain. Besides this, CreAMINO® has repeatedly been proven to enable broilers to overcome a certain energy deficiency in their rations.
Theory is one thing; proof on farm quite another. The feed company Sopramel, in conjunction with our distributor Feed and Food, conducted a field trial under standard Moroccan conditions to demonstrate the ability of CreAMINO® to improve performance in a real farm environment.
Four houses were involved, each containing 4500 as hatched broilers. These were fed to 45 days with diets based on maize, soyabean meal, sunflower meal and fishmeal. Diet specification is shown in Table 1.

Houses were standard controlled environment houses, all similar and all managed in a similar fashion. Treatments were a standard control diet, as above; and the CreAMINO® diets which were identical in formulation to control but had 600 g CreAMINO® added. These were allocated randomly to one of each pair of houses.
Physical performance is shown in Table 2.

Results for Control are in line with Moroccan expectations. Clearly addition of CreAMINO® improved performance.
The extent of this improvement is shown in Table 3.
