Effect of using inedible date vinegar on broiler chick’s performance and immune responses

Summary

The aim of this study was to determine the effects of different levels of industrial and inedible date vinegar on broiler chicken´s performance, immunity system and blood serum biochemicals. In present survey, 200 day old male broiler chicks (Ross 308) were used in a completely randomized design with five treatments, replicated four times and ten birds per each pen(1.5×0.7 m2). Experimental treatments included control group (without vinegar) and 1 % industrial vinegar, 0/5%, 1% and 1/5 % inedible date vinegar in drinking water respectively. Rearing period was from one to 42 days. It was observed significant differences between performance and immunity of broilers in different treatments on the days of 21 and 42 (P<;0/05). In the whole period of study feed intake and FCR were not significantly influenced by experimental treatments (P>0/05). There were significant differences between treatments in spleen weight in 21 days and high density lipoprotein (HDL), cholesterol and IgM 1 in blood serum in 42 days (P<0/05). Based on the results of the present study, 1% date's vinegar was recommended in drinking water for broiler chicks.
