Nice article showing the importance of a healthy gut microbiota and the relationship between intestine and immunity. As we know, post weaning is also a critical period for our piglets and nowadays some companies are implementing late weaning instead of early weaning in order to avoid possible disease outbreaks. However, Dr. Jansman do you think this strategy is very effective to enhance intestinal integrity or late weaning pigs still facing the challenge to recover intestinal homeostasis even though the immune system response may be superior? Thanks for your attention.
