Novipro® N40C -Release Nitrogen source

Novipro® N40C

Nitrogen®

Rumination has been well recognized as an essential fermentation that is capable of preparing end-products, particularly volatile fatty acids and microbial proteins as major energy and protein source for the ruminant host. Hence the more efficient this fermentation process takes place, the more balanced the fermentation end-products are being synthesized. An optimal ration between rumen degradation and rumen by-pass ingredients is key to obtain efficient production and to prevent metabolic disorders.

A large portion of the protein in dairy diets comes from microbial protein produced by microbes in the rumen. Microbial protein can supply more than 55% of the required protein for a cow. The microbes need sources of Nitrogen and Carbohydrates (energy) available at the same time to produce protein. A few hours after a meal there is a rise in rumen ammonia level, followed by a decrease of rumen ammonia level.

With high proteins prices feed urea is a good source of nitrogen for rumen microbial protein synthesis. To improve the utilization of nitrogen from feed urea, the conversion of urea to ammonia needs to be slowed down.

Novipro is a partially coated form of urea produced with the encapsulation technology to create a slow release Nitrogen source. Novipro gives a continuous supply of nitrogen to the rumen. Innovad special coating technique is based on advanced technology involving synchronized spray cooling of a composite matrix of primarily selected long chain fatty acids. This technique assures that the maximum amount of protected nutrients is able to by-pass rumen fermentation and remains available at the small intestine. The coating protects nutrients from oxidation, pH, light and makes the product free flowing and non-hygroscopic.

Benefits

  • More production of microbial protein due continuous supply of nitrogen
  • Lower MUN concentration and lower dietary crude protein
  • Replacing a part protein rich ingredients by non-protein dense ingredients
  • More efficient utilization of dietary nitrogen
  • Improved fiber utilization
