Abstract
Thirty Awassi lambs were used (5-6 months of age) and26.02 Kgaverage body weight, they were randomly allocated into six groups. The animals were fed group feeding (3% of body weight) six ration of different sources (ground corn cobs, date stones or date pulp) which was supplemented with 2 kg of  Saccharomyces cerevisiae (Sc) and 1kg Iraqi probiotic(Ip) as a pellets ration. Barley straw introduced  Ad Lib. the pellets ration were as following:
Group 1= 34% ground corn cobs and 66% of other feed materials, supplemented with (2 kg Sc and 1 kg Ip per ton feed) .
Group  2 = Group 1 without supplementation.
Group 3 = 34% ground date stones and 66% of other feed materials, supplemented with (2 kg Sc and1 kg Ip per ton feed) .
Group  4 = Group 3 without supplementation.
Group 5 = 34% ground date pulp and 66% of other feed materials, supplemented with (2 kg Sc and1 kg Ip per ton feed) .
Group 6 = Group 5 without supplementation.
The experiment lasted for 70 days, eighteen animals were slaughtered at the end of the experiment (3 animals of each trait) .
Results indicated:
  1. Supplementation with SC and IP and kind of roughage feed and their interaction had no effect on feed consumption .
  2. Highly significant differences were observed (p<0.01) in the feed efficiency for supplementation by SC and IP  and kind of roughage feed and their interaction on (p<0.05), It was 5.63, 7.71 ,4.19 ,6.47 , 5.11 ,7.57 kg dry matter intake / Kg gain for 1 , 2….6 respectively .
  3. Highly significant differences were observed (p<0.01) of the daily gain for supplementation by SC and IP whereas significant (p<0.05) for kind of roughage feed and their interaction that was 164 ,116 ,229 ,141 ,185,119 g for 1 , 2,…, 6 respectively .
  4. Highly significant differences were observed (p<0.01) of  hot carcass and the empty body weight for supplementation SC and IP but significant (p<0.05) for kind of roughage feed and their interaction that was reached 17.37, 16.35, 21.70 ,16.83 ,19.70, 16.55 kg and 31.53 , 28.86, 36.45 ,29.40 ,33.76 ,29.25 , kg for  1, 2,…, 6 respectively .
  5. Significant differences were observed (p<0.05) for interaction effect of the dressing percentage (1) according to live weight this was 47.15 ,47.85 , 51.49 ,48.47 ,49.46 ,48.13 ,% for  1 , 2,…, 6 respectively, whereas dressing percentage (2) according to empty body weight improvement was noticed .
  6. Significant differences were observed (p<0.05) for interaction effect of the rib eye area and fat thickness which was 12.94 , 11.33 ,13.63 ,11.33 ,13.25 ,11.38 ,cm. and 5.33 ,5.33 ,9.00 ,7.66 ,5.66 , 5.00 ml. for 1, 2,…, 6 respectively .
  7. Highly significant differences were observed (p<0.01) for supplementation SC and IP of the rib cut weight 9 ,10 &11, where as not significant for kind of roughage feed but significant (p<0.05) for interaction, this was 0.800 ,0.750 ,1.050 ,0.683 ,0.9000.700 kg for 1, 2,…, 6 respectively .
  8. Interaction effect was significant (p<0.05) for some internal organs (liver) where as treatments by SC and IP significant for lungs weight, and Significant (p<0.05)  for kind of roughage feed on the spleen weight.
  9. This study indicated an improvement of all productive and some of carcass characteristics due to treatments by SC and IP which were pellets with date stones in ration followed by date pulp and corn cobs .

DO YOU MEAN THAT YOU USE BAKER YEAST IN THIS STUDY? IF NOT IS IT ALSO POSSIBLE TO USE BAKER YEAST AND ACHIEVE SIMILAR RESULTS. THANKS ADEMOLA SADIQ
