X-Zelit increases fertility and reduces number of empty days
Published:January 4, 2018
Summary
A new study from Cornell University showed that cows supplemented with X-Zelit in the dry period were getting pregnant faster.
The figure shows the frequency of cows non-pregnant. Thus, in start of lactation all cows are non-pregnant and from around day 60 and onwards animals get pregnant. The cows in the X-Zelit group are getting pregnant earlier compared to the cows in the control group...
Hello, thank you for the interesting information! Just one question: does the Na aluminum silicate in the X-Zelit bind molecules like Ca selective, and how fast is the release?
Dr. Birgit Beyer, Thank you for the question. The X-Zelit bind the calcium and the phosphorus. No binding of microelements. X-Zelit is easily dissolved in fluid and is released soon after intake in the rumen. The binding of calcium is though mainly taking place in duodenum. We recommend supplementing X-Zelit to the cow the last two weeks before parturition giving the cow time to activate her homeostatic regulation of calcium.
Mohammad Salahuddin, The X-Zelit is supplemented 0.5 kg per day the last two to three weeks before parturition. The product will then bind the calcium in the feed, forcing the cow to start her own defence mechanism for low calcium. Thus, she start actively to absorb calcium from bone and feed. At parturition, the absorbtion is primed and you stop supplementing the X-Zelit. The cow will then have a high calcium level during the whole periparturient period.

Thanks for presenting X-Zelit. Ideally speaking serum calcium drops around 36 to 48 hr prior to parturition. There is urgent need of instant absorbing calcium and sustained release calcium. This serum dip remain for 3 days post parturition. In case we don't supplement, cow start release the PTH and start mobilizing from calcium depots like bone. In high yielders require exogenous source of calcium as lot of calcium is drawn in colostrum.
Do we have some data on effect on serum calcium on feeding of X-Zelit?
Sharma Madan Lal The plasma calcium is kept at high level during the whole periparturient period. Please go to our home page http://x-zelit.com/ where there are several figures showing the evolution of calcium around calving. Regards.
Hello and good morning to all of the veterinaries and specialized person.
I think that the adding of calcium in the ration must be gradually in the last three months of gestation to compensate the constitution of bone structure of new calves and accommodating their mother to avoid calcium shock.
For that, we must add gradually from 0.20 kg in the 7th month, then 0.40 kg per day, previously 0.50 kg per day in last months and first months of lactation.
