Dr. Haroldo Toro thanks for brief information about CIA.

1. Post CIA gangrenous deramatitis / wing rot occurs what should be approach for lesion & mortality control?

2. Does immunosuppressive viruses like MDV, IBDV has got any incremental role in CIA and if so then what care should be taken?

Dear Prof. Haroldo Toro

Thank you for the brief and precise description on CIA. It appears that there is a big role in the hands of breeders to deliver CIA free chicks to the growers. Could you please tell us what sort of percentage of infected birds one could observe in a broiler rearing system located in an area where CIA is not common with proper cleaning & disinfection after each cycle and with having proper biosecurity system. What is the reason for its extreme resistance to heat & commonly used disinfectants?
