Silvafeed® enters the Brazilian market

Thanks to the experience learned in Europe and abroad, Silvateam has harnessed that knowledge and has focused on developing the Brazilian market by launching local novel concepts and products to improve production parameters and quality of final products. The company’s products Silvafeed® are currently active in South American countries such as Argentina, Colombia, Peru and Uruguay. Now the company has taken further steps and introduced its natural portfolio in one of the most important markets in the world, Brazil.

Silvateam has been working on this development for the past 5 years by performing extensive and detailed research with local Universities such as Viçosa, Rio Grande do Sul and Paraná. The market has responded in a positive and receptive manner by adhering to the demandwith alternative products of a new generation.

Silvateam hasstarted to develop regional sites such as Santa Catarina and Sao Paulo, Brazil that are key points of the country’s livestock industry. The company has also extended a commercial net of representatives covering other cities in the region such asRibeirãoPreto, Cuiabá and Goiânia, Brazil. By expanding their reach, they have been able to touch on important parts of the industry.

The Team’s Professionals that haverecently joined theruminant nutrition group in the last 6 months are Marcelo Manella PhD in Animal Science and the Brazilian manager in charge of coordinating the São Paulo region. Germano Melo who is a Veterinarian from Cuiabá, MatoGroso with anaffluent profile in marketing and a sharp technical background. Ulissis Zancanella from Goiás, Goiâniawho is focused on customer service and marketing with key customers such aspremixers and feed yards (Figure 1).

The monogastrics industry, which is steadily growing, is based in 3 states that concentrate on 65% of the country’s total aviculture/poultry production: Santa Catarina, Paraná and Rio Grande do Sul. The Monogastrics Team is led by the Animal Nutrition Director Joao Batista Lancini (Figure 2). Joao has managedthe main accounts in the Brazilian aviculture/poultry industry for many years. The experience he has brought has provided the group with newexpertise in the sector, willingness to confront challenges and obstacles and a drive and eagerness to find new and natural alternatives.

The Silvafeed® introduction has begun in 3 different stages. The purpose of each is to provide technical support and promotional presentations of the technology used. The first showingtook place at the Beef Producers Meeting in Ribeirao Preto, Brazil which took place in March 2016. The second will be held at theBovine Nutrition Technical Meeting in Goiania, Brazil in April 2016. The third will be at theBrazil Sul Aviculture Symposium in Chapecó, Brazil which will also take place in April.

Furthermore, Silvateam invests in technical exchanges by inviting technicians from various countries to immerse themselves in other country’s production processes. Brazilian specialists have been invited to Argentina, Argentinean specialists have been invited to Brazil and different feed yards in México and US, supported by recognized researchers from the best Universities in order to share their experiences using Silvafeed® products. Recognized researchersinclude Dr. Richard Zinn from The University of California at Davis in the United States.Dr. Rubén Barajas from Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa in Mexico.Dr. Alejandro Castillo from The University of California at Davis in the United States.Dr. Mariano Miyakawa from INTA-Conicet in Argentina.
