SAINT CHARLES, MO (January 19, 2021) – Despite the pandemic, the annual International Production and Processing Expo (IPPE) will proceed this year but in a completely different way, and Novus International, Inc. will be there.
As a global leader in health and nutrition solutions for the animal agriculture industry, Novus International, Inc. annually attends IPPE, which is considered the world’s largest poultry industry convention. Though the pandemic has impacted nearly every aspect of working life for the industry globally, Novus leaders are glad that conventions like IPPE can proceed, albeit differently than before.
“Novus is excited for the opportunity to participate at IPPE in this new way in 2021,” said Ed Galo, chief commercial officer for the Americas at Novus. “The pandemic presented challenges early on in how companies can meet and exchange information, but like many others, our industry has adapted and implemented new ways to continue business. While we won’t be able to meet with customers and our industry peers at our booth on the tradeshow floor or during our annual happy hour or cocktail party, we still appreciate that the IPPE organizers have proceeded with the event online.”
Novus’s participation is robust: six sessions were accepted from researchers for the new TECHTalks, which are short video presentations available on-demand through the IPPE MarketplaceSM. The presentations cover topics on:
- A Dietary Essential Oil Formulation to Bolster Gut Health and Boost Performance
- Antagonisms Are Eating Your Minerals
- Effect of Maternal Supplementation of MINTREX® Zn in Breeder Hens on Progeny Health
- Organic Acid Combinations with HMTBa: Applications in Pathogen Control for Poultry and Swine
- Effect of Dietary MMHAC Trace Minerals on Lameness in Finisher Pigs
- Near-Infrared Spectroscopy Technology to Predict Soybean Meal Trypsin Inhibitor and together with Protease to Achieve Precision Nutrition and Improve Animal Performance
An abstract by Novus Senior Poultry Researcher Frances Yan was also accepted for the International Poultry Scientific Forum (IPSF), which is held in conjunction with IPPE annually. Yan’s abstract is titled, “Efficacy of an essential oi blend alone or combined with a coccidiosis vaccine against Eimeria challenge in broilers.”
“The research presented at IPSF is of relevance to the poultry industry,” said Mercedes Vázquez-Añón, Novus’s senior director of animal research. “Historically through the Forum we’ve been able to share information with a wide audience that can make a real difference in how poultry nutritionists and production managers formulate diets and manage the flocks. We hope even more people take advantage of this virtual opportunity to participate in IPSF.”
IPPE is one of the world's largest annual poultry, meat and feed industry events, attracting a range of international decision-makers to network and be informed of the latest developments and issues facing the industry.
The in-person event in 2020 saw over 32,000 attendees from around the world. The event is sponsored by U.S. Poultry & Egg Association, American Feed Industry Association, and the North American Meat Institute. For more information visit www.ippexpo.org.
