Coinciding with SPACE Exhibition, Global Nutrition International organized an international technical forum on the 10th and 11th of September, with distributors and customers from Europe and Middle-East focusing on its Gut Check Program.
Global Nutrition’s ‘Gut Check’ Forum outlined the 4 critical steps and checks in developing strong gastro-intestinal or gut performance including nutrition, infection control, mucosal protection and environmental status of the animal. The symposium featured a keynote presentation on “Factors Affecting Gut Health and Performance”, by Professor Robert SWICK from the University of New England, Armidale, Australia. Professor Swick focused on possible alternatives to antibiotic growth promotants (AGPs) and research available on each; “The broiler industry is undergoing rapid change in many countries with the removal of AGPs – recently we have seen the removal of AGPs in Vietnam, Indonesia and broadening of bans in Canada and Eastern Europe. When considering actions, having a checklist of what is needed to maintain performance is critical. In most cases we are not looking to improve performance but maintain it, once AGPs are removed” said Professor Swick.
Further, Francis CLEMENT, a French poultry specialist and Yann BERTHONNEAU, from Michel Group, France, overviewed the “Benefits of Early Chick Feeding”, and presented details of a new product GLOBAFIRST, a hydrating and nourishing, GLOBAMAX-supplemented, first food for chicks in ready-to-use gel form.
Thanks to our partners for being part of this event, see you next year!
