Positive Opinion Marks a Milestone for Novus International in the Eubiotic Market

ST. LOUIS (October 18, 2017)—The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has published a new scientific opinion on the safety and efficacy of AVIMATRIX® (Novus International, Inc.) as a zootechnical feed additive. The authority has concluded that the inclusion of AVIMATRIX at 500 mg/kg complete feed has the potential to improve the performance of chickens for fattening, chickens reared for laying and minor avian species for fattening and to point of lay. It is considered to be tolerated by chickens for fattening and reared for laying up to the maximum recommended dose (1,000 mg/kg complete feed).
AVIMATRIX is a granulated preparation of benzoic acid, calcium formate and fumaric acid, encapsulated in a lipid matrix, which favorably affects bird performance. AVIMATRIX, manufactured with a proprietary, state of the art production process (Novus Premium Blend Technology), supports broiler producers to achieve a better production profitability in an effective and sustainable way.
“The positive conclusions from EFSA on AVIMATRIX demonstrate Novus´s innovation capabilities and confirm its commitment to delivering solutions for sustainable animal production,” commented Uwe Ranft, Area General Manager, Europe, and Middle East at Novus.
