This viral disease is caused by the Avian Leukosis virus (ALV) and affects the liver. Nowadays, it is becoming a great problem in the Cox's Bazar area from two specific hatcheries. I would prefer not to mention the name of the hatcheries but their respective owners should care about it seriously. Farmers in this area are economically solvent but they are mostly illiterate. Farming business is entirely for literate people who have the ability to follow our (vet) instruction. Even though this is not directly related to the disease, I´m mentioning this because mortality depends on the management & associated secondary bacterial infection. Lack of biosecurity and proper management knowledge may have a negative impact on the whole laying period. This disease mainly appears at the begginning of the laying period. Mortality continues up to 32/35 wks of age approximately. Affected bird becomes gradually emaciated, comb & wattle shrink and losses glossiness.
