Addcon at Poultry and Pig Focus Asia 2018

Good habits should not be changed! One of those is the Poultry and Pig Focus Asia, which is held every second year, since 2004 in Bangkok, Thailand.

ADDCON is honored to be invited to this event this year, to give lectures about new solutions that can support the industry in its goal to become sustainable and AGP-free. On this event Addcon was represented by Dr. Anant Deshpande, Poultry Focus, and Dr. Stevan Petrovic, Pig Focus.

Dr. Anant Deshpande presented the usage of diformates and 3rd generation acidifier in poultry.

His review dealt with the use of effective replacements to antibiotics in the form of Diformates- the double salts of formic acid combined with phytogenic compounds and their efficacy against bacterial pathogens. Available data showed that these substitutes not only effectively control pathogenic bacteria but also improve productivity far more effectively than antibiotics.

Dr. Stevan Petrovic, presented Addcon’s 3rd generation acidifier product for swines. Continuous research on medium chained fatty acids (MCFA) has led to new products which have paved the way for a new product generation – combinations of the trusted and patented ADDCON-double salts with monolaurates.

Initial studies have shown that these 3rd generation acidifiers have a significant impact on both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, so these new products will be a great tool in reducing the application of antibiotic growth promoters in modern animal husbandry.
