Global animal health company Alltech will host a Mycotoxin Awareness meeting on November 14 in Middlebury, Indiana. Local dairy producers will have the opportunity to learn more about toxic metabolites found in stored grain, forage, silage and even in pasture grasses. The focus of the meeting is to bring together dairy producers to discuss solutions to mycotoxin contamination. Dr. Simon Timmermans will discuss ways to recognize the effects of mycotoxin contamination in the feed, as well as on-farm issues and solutions to this silent killer. The luncheon will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Das Dutchmen Essenhaus on U.S. Highway 20. Alltech Indiana Sales Manager Martin Ledwaba will provide opening remarks followed by Timmermans’ presentation on mycotoxins. There will be a lunch and a question-and-answer session to follow. Providing natural solutions to the feed and food industries since 1980, Alltech employs more than 1,700 people and has a presence in 85 countries around the world, including offices in Plymouth, Indiana and Mentor, Ohio.
