Biomin met with the feed and animal husbandry industry in Biomin Forums, which were conducted in 6 different cities in Bangladesh, India, Australia and the Philippines. The Forums, which were held from July 3 to 14, focused on trends and new solutions for the industry. The meetings draw the attention of about 300 technicians and decision makers. “The aim of a Biomin Forum is to start discussion on new trends and solutions for the industry” says Kurt Wegleitner, who attended all Forum. “It is crucial for Biomin to work with the industry on new solution in order to master the challenging times ahead, toghether”. As industry trends vary from market to market, the program was especially adopted for the regional and local needs. The speakers, a mix of Consultants, Representatives of the Authorities, Field technicians and Biomin´s key people focused their presentations on topics ranging from Avian Influenza, New trends in breeding, fertility management by means of feed additives, Natural Growth Promotion, effects of Mycotoxins to Preservation and acidification of feed and feed ingredients. According to the nature of Biomin Forums, the events were not intended to be presentations only, but to encourage discussions between the speakers and the audience. In all cities, this objective could be easily achieved, which proofed that Biomin can identify the topics which will move the industry in the future. The effort Biomin has invested in the Forums, seems also to pay off for Biomin. According to Erich Erber, the companies founder “The growth of the company in Asia Pacific will continue at a level of about +50% in sales annually. The growth comes on the one hand from the mycotoxin deactivator Mycofix® Plus, but also from our Natural Growth Promoters such as Biotronic and Biomin PEP. The feed additives, which are backed by the V.B.S.® know how, are optimized for the local conditions in the various markets” . Mr. Erber continues that, “More staff has been hired and will be hired also in the years to come. At the moment Biomin is setting up more research facilities in the region – very soon a new research farm will be opened in Asia Pacific.” As the interest in the presentations was enormous and as not everybody could attend the Forums, Biomin has decided to offer downloads of the some of the presentations on its websites.
