Hello, thanks a lot for opening the discussion. Unfortunately soluble and insoluble are chemical ways to characterize fiber fractions, but does not say how the fiber behave in the digestive tract. We would benefit from another point of view considering inert fiber fractions and fermentable fiber fractions, which are at the end what happens in the gut: nothing or metabolized by the microbiota.
