Use of Cactus to Enhance Animal Immune System

China Kangtai Cactus Biotech Inc., a vertically integrated grower, developer, manufacturer and marketer of a variety of cactus-based consumer products in China, announced yesterday that its wholly-owned subsidiary Harbin Hainan Kangda Cactus Hygienical Foods Co., Ltd. has been granted The National Invention Patent of China, a key patent for the nutritional use of cactus to enhance the immune system through its ability to prevent infection and anti-inflammatory diseases. The Company was previously awarded two patents for Cactus Cattle Feed and Cactus Fish Feed by the State Intellectual Property Office and has five patents pending. These include Cactus Poultry Feed, Cactus Pig Feed, Cactus Cattle Feed Additives, Cactus Poultry Feed Additives and Cactus Pig Feed Additives.

''We are pleased to be awarded this key patent, which builds on the Company's strong intellectual property position,'' said Jinjiang Wang, President of China Kangtai Cactus. ''This patent protects the investments we have made in developing a portfolio of cactus-based consumer products in China and provides additional recognition of our leading position in the marketplace.''

The Company has also entered into a long term cooperation agreement related to the research and development of animal feed with The State Ministry of Agriculture Feed Industry Center. This cooperation combines science and technology, full range equipment, and will allow the Company's scientific research personnel to collaborate with the information resources of The State Ministry of Agriculture Feed Industry Center.

The combined development teams will further study animal nutrition and immunology, which have been the basis for the development of cactus feed and cactus feed additives with different formulas. The success with animal studies led to the development of the products that the Company will market in short future. The parties will further study this area in order to develop additional products. This project has been listed as the National Sparking Plan Project and has obtained the Approval Certificate of Outcome of Scientific Technology that awarded by Committee of Science and Technology of Heilongjiang Province in June 2004.
