Lallemand Product Manager, Laurent Dussert, was present at SPACE 2010 and talked about Antioxidants, Selenium, Meat and Milk Quality. He expressed:"Scientific evidence shows that organic selenium yeast source increases selenium status in tissues, contributes to improved reproduction, and increases immunity and related health benefits. A recent study of commercial beef fattening was conducted at Padova University, Italy, 2010. Supply of organic selenium with Alkosel during the finishing period increases selenium absorption producing better availability compared to inorganic selenium (higher blood and tissue selenium concentrations); Alkosel improved meat quality traits such as drip loss, lightness and shear force which could have an important impact on retailers and consumers choices."
