Kemin Opens New Customer Lab in Ludhiana

Kemin inaugurated a new state-of-the-art lab facility in Ludhiana that will provide customized laboratory support to dairy and poultry farmers as well as feed millers in North India. The lab will assist farmers and feed millers in identifying the challenges related to animal health, feed and nutrition and offer customized nutritional solutions for sustainable dairy and poultry farming.   

Over 100 participants from the dairy and poultry industries attended the inauguration ceremony, which was presided over by Sardar Dalejeet Singh, President of the Progressive Dairy Farmers Association (PDFA). Other dignitaries included: Mr. Harjinder Singh, PDFA Joint Secretary; Mr. Mann from the Dairy Development Board; Mr. Ravinderjit Singh, COO of MACRO Dairy Ventures; Mr. Ashish Gupta, Sampoorna Feeds; Mr. Baljinder Singh, Amarjeet Breeder Farm; and Mr. Sameer Agarwal,  Jalandhar Feeds. 

Mr. N. Samraj Jeyachandran, a Senior Vice President for the animal nutrition and health division, gave a brief introduction of Kemin's worldwide operations. He presented the unique features of the Customer Laboratory Services unit that is designed as per international standards to provide quality service to the farming community. He emphasized the importance of robust laboratory support that can provide timely solutions to enhance productivity through judicious nutrition and better disease management. He further stated that through Customer Laboratory Services, Kemin will offer a gamut of audit services and solutions encompassing all aspects of farm management.

"Kemin Customer Laboratory Services in Ludhiana is equipped with advanced and sophisticated equipment including Thermal Cycler (PCR), Spectrophotometer and Elisa reader to conduct quality nutritional analysis. The new facility will conduct analysis of biochemistry and hematology parameters, polymerized chain reaction for screening, identification and confirmation of diseases in poultry and dairy animals," explained Mr. Jeyachandran. "These capabilities will enable Kemin to provide quality reports to farmers and help them take corrective actions in farm management, purchase of animals and disease management," he said.  

Mr. Jeyachandran continued, "Kemin, in addition to providing the farming community with world-class nutritional solutions through superior science, is also committed to helping these communities reach higher standards in terms of quality and productivity. The new Customer Laboratory Services initiative is a major step towards this direction."

Kemin offers laboratory services in the following key areas: nutritional parameters evaluation, microbiology analysis with identification techniques, analysis of all prevalent mycotoxins, checking of quality parameters and adulteration of feed raw materials, rancidity analysis of fats and oils, raw material quality verification, feed mill audit, farm audit and screening, microbial and pathogen control solutions, screening for diseases, etc. Kemin also offers support to customers in building and maintaining new labs.
