To keep up with this growth, whoever offers products with better quality wins.

The new coronavirus pandemic, which has been lasting in Brazil for five months already, has brought a new reality to the economy. All sectors had to adapt to survive the new demands of the market. Despite many industries entering a real crisis, agribusiness, in turn, is expanding. Animal protein exports, for example, have been growing each month, reaching historic levels.

Brazilian Beef Exporters Association (ABIEC) data shows that, in the first six months of this year, the volume of beef exported was 908 thousand tons. The increase was 9.3% compared to 831 thousand tons shipped in the same period last year. Revenue reached US$ 3.93 billion, an increase of 25.7% compared to US$ 3.1 billion in the same period in 2019.

Brazilian exports of chicken (considering all products, between fresh and processed) totaled 1.365 million tons in the first four months of 2020, according to data from the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA). The result is 5.1% higher than that registered in the same period of 2019 when 1.299 million tons were exported.

Pork exports have also increased. According to ABPA, in the accumulated result for the year, pork sales are 37.01% higher this year, compared to 2019. There were 479.4 thousand tons between January and June 2020, while 349.9 thousand tons were exported in the first six months of last year.

Numbers have been showing that this year is quite atypical. When comparing the first half of 2020 to the average annual increase in Brazilian animal protein exports in the last decade, which is around 2.4% per year, there is a growth higher than expected, which directly or indirectly impacts the entire animal production chain.

The increase in demand for export protein makes it inevitable for producers to invest in a more productive, and healthier animal feed, which provides the best performance and profitability for their businesses. In this scenario, yeast-based food additives are a great option. ICC Brazil, a pioneering company in the production of innovative solutions for yeast-based animal nutrition, recorded an average increase of 10% in the sale of its products in the last three months.

ICC Brazil values animal nutrition, health, and welfare, as well as the quality of meat that will be consumed. It has a variety of 100% natural products, which contribute to healthy development and increases performance, being an alternative to growth promoters and acting intelligently and strengthening the animals’ immune system.

One of its main products is ImmunoWall®, a yeast cell wall with high concentrations of MOS and B-glucans. ImmunoWall® controls pathogens and has an immunomodulating action, favoring a faster and more effective response against the challenges imposed by the field. Consequently, the intestinal health and welfare of the animals, as well as their performance, are significantly better. ICC also has Hilyses®, which has free nucleotides and nucleosides, enhancing cell multiplication and ensuring that the animal reaches its maximum potential. It is especially suitable for the early stages of growth, reproduction, lactation, periods of stress, and significant challenges.

For ruminants, RumenYeast® is one of the most recommended products. Composed mainly of fermentation metabolites, it is the ideal nutrition for the ruminal microbiota, in addition to promoting the improvement of intestinal health and strengthening of the immune system. It acts by maintaining the pH and stimulating cellulolytic bacteria, thus improving rumen conditions and maximizing animal performance and welfare.
