Kemin Industries (Asia) Pte. Ltd. has announced the opening of its newly completed $1.3 million Asia-Pacific Innovation Centre in Singapore.

Kemin Industries (Asia) began operations in Singapore in 1981 to provide nutritional solutions through the manufacture of livestock feed ingredients and agriculture products throughout the Asia-Pacific region, company officials said. Today, antioxidants, minerals, pigments, preservatives, enzymes and surfactants remain key products in the agrifoods business of Kemin. The main focus areas for the company are food safety and security, animal health and nutrition.

With opening of the new facility, Kemin Asia has essentially doubled its laboratory space from 6,000-square-feet to 12,000-square-feet. The new center comprises two wings: a West Wing that houses all the research laboratories and an East Wing that contains the customer service laboratories for the different business units, including the aquaculture, food ingredients and nutrisurance (pet food) businesses.

"As the vision of Kemin is to improve the quality of life by touching half the people of the world everyday with our products and services, we see inherent growth potential in the Asia-Pacific region and this new center will underpin our business strategy," Athan Katsanos, Kemin Asia president and CEO, said. "Having already established a name for ourselves through quality products, the opening of the new research Innovation Centre marks another milestone in the ongoing efforts and commitment of Kemin to providing nutritional solutions for a changing world."
