Specific vegetal extracts
to manage the risk of coccidiosis
OILIS offers a natural and efficient solution in the management of coccidiosis risk in farms. OILIS is made of specific natural vegetal extracts. They act in synergy to protect intestinal epithelium and reinforce animals’ natural defences. OILIS guarantees zootechnical performances.
What is
coccidiosis ?
Veterinarians and meat producers consistently rank coccidiosis within the top few most serious and costly problems of modern animal production. Coccidiosis is caused by a protozoa, unicellular parasite of the Eimeria genus. They multiply in the epithelium of the intestine. Most animal species are susceptible.
The challenge is to maintain contamination below a level generating economic losses.
Coccidiosis can be subclinical and affect growth performances. It impairs the feed conversion rate due to an abrasion of the intestinal wall.
The resulting inefficient assimilation of nutrients can not be recovered afterwards. In a second step, the coccidiosis pathology leads to diarrhoea and mortality.
Stress, high density, environment and sanitary status (wet litter) favour coccidiosis problems.
OILIS, an efficient formula developed in our research station
OILIS components were selected and tested in our research station, using the “coccidiosis challenge” model developed in partnership with the independant institute INRA (National Institute of Agronomic Research).
OILIS is highly efficient in reducing damages to intestinal wall during coccidiosis outbreaks. OILIS gives particularly good protection against the highly pathogenic E. acervulina and E. tenella.
OILIS also proved in the trial to reduce oocysts excretion.
OILIS, for poultry a validated solution
OILIS guarantees as good zootechnical performances as positive control groups using chemical molecules.
Data from 3 field trials
Non challenged animals (natural contaminations)
Slow growth broilers
Positive control : coccidiostat
OILIS SD 1 kg/T
OILIS reduces the huge negative impact of coccidiosis challenge as far as FCR is concerned.
Ensat (2002) FRANCE
Quality broilers (145 animals /diet)
Inoculation by INRA France at d14, E. tenella 2000 SO*,
E. maxima 1000 SO*, E. acervulina 100 000 SO*
Diets : A : experimentally infected ; B : A + ionophoretic ;
C : A + OILIS 1 kg/T whole period (0 - 42 days)
OILIS, for ruminants a validated solution
Evialis R&D in collaboration with C. MAGE - France 2007
Meat calves (45 animals/diet) - Challenge conditions : No chemical treatment at arrival nor during the trial
No disinfection of buildings at arrival of calves nor during the growing period
Control : milk feeding + solid pre-starter feed in increasing quantities - OILIS LD : control + OILIS LD 5 g/animal/day - 30 days trial.
OILIS limits cocciodosis contamination in calves by reducing the number of positive animals and their excretion of oocysts. OILIS also improves growth performance (+151 g of ADG) generating a great return on investment.
