ListerTest® helps detect and control Listeria by making testing of foods and the processing environment easy and rapid. ListerTest detects injured Listeria. It also eliminates enrichment, which is not only time consuming, but can produce false negatives if the Listeria are killed by harsh live agents. Studies by the AOAC Research Institute found that ListerTest produces immeasurably low levels of false positive analyses - a superior performance level that eliminates losses of time and money used attempting to confirm false positive samples. In our test, Listeria are bound to antibodies on microscopic magnetic beads. These beads are then isolated from the rest of the food or environmental sample. Listeria are confirmed immunologically and, if desired, characterized biochemically. All in about 24 hours.
