This is a very informative article, but authors failed to mention another method to clear the feed of any salmonella contamination, and that is use of Hygenizer or LTC. This Long Term Conditioner clears all salmonella from Feed at conditioning stage and from this point onward, suggestions offered by this article could be used.

Feed Mill management has become a very big and pertinent issue nowadays with modern technique of feed milling. What we have been practising, to avoid using any material from animal source, such as Fish, Fish By-products, Meat and Meat By-products, strict quarantine measures for feed mills, following GMP and HAACAPS.

A daily cleaning programme of main machinery items like conditioner, pelletmill, cooler, etc must be done thoroughly and it should be followed by spray of Virkon solution should solve contamination feed mill problem. More over cheks and control needed at every level of operation form raw material arrival - sampling-stacking-intake-batching-processing-final feed.
