BIONOX is a powerful antioxidant specially designed for balanced animal feed ingredients that are susceptible to oxidation as well as for vitamin and pigment premixes.
In the oxidation or lipidic peroxidation process, unsaturated fatty acids suffer the loss of hydrogen, forming a free radical in the site of the substitution, a reaction that is catalyzed by metals in the presence of oxygen. The free radical can quickly turn into a free radical peroxide fatty acid and later into a hyeroxide fatty acid, both extremely toxic, generating high economic losses. The addition of an antioxidant blocks peroxidation, supplying hydrogen to the first free radical formed and therefore turning it back into the original fatty acid with its nutritional value intact.
The presence of peroxidases in almost all vegetable cells and in some animals, promotes the oxidation of numerous substrates such as phenols, aromatic amines and in general of fat soluble compounds such as vitamins.
Oxidation is responsible for the decrease in the quality of feed and the deterioration of nutrients such as protein and energy, associated to rancidity processes.
Some of the problems attributed directly to oxidation are: low animal yields, vitamin destruction, low feed palatability, low feed intake, decrease in energy and protein content, formation of toxic compounds, and liquid feces.
Antioxidants can be effective when applied separately, however, when they are used in combination with another two or more, their action is reinforced. This is why BIONOX is a synergistic mix that provides active ingredient concentration above 25 and it is made up of the following antioxidants: Ethoxyquin, BHT (butyl hydroxytoluene), TBHQ (Tert-butylhydroquinone), Phosphoric acid and Citric acid.
BIONOX carrier is specially formulated from synthetic silicas (vegetable oil for the liquid version), supporting the main active ingredients mixed with a natural surfactants, so as to allow a homogenous mix and better dispersal through the feed, premix or ingredients treated.
Chelating agents used in the formulation of BIONOX capture free radicals preventing self-oxidation.
DOSAGE:
BIONOX should be used according to the following table:
|
PRODUCT TO BE TREATED |
DOSAGE |
|
Animal byproduct meals |
500 - 1,000 g/MT |
|
Pigments |
250 - 500 g/MT |
|
Vitamin premixes |
50 -100 g/Kg |
|
Vitamin and Mineral Premixes |
100 – 150 g/Kg |
|
Complete feeds with fat < 5 |
100 - 250 g/MT |
|
Complete feeds with fat > 5 |
300 - 500 g/MT |
For BIONOX in solid form, it is advisable to mix the product with 2 kilograms of vegetable flour or carrier before adding it to the product to be treated. Liquid BIONOX can be applied directly to the ingredient or feed to be treated.
Why use BIONOX:
- It is an easily applied antioxidant.
- It is specially developed for premixes and/or finished feeds.
- It is effective at low concentrations.
- It has good stability at high temperatures.
- It shows a powerful synergistic action between BHT, Ethoxyquin and TBHQ
- Its chelating agents associated to BHT allow total absorption of free radicals.
- Its surfacting fraction facilitates dispersal of the antioxidant and chelating agents.
- Its vehicle is specially formulated to ensure good dispersal of the antioxidant in the feed and/or premix.
- Reasonable cost
