Development Alternatives Inc. (DAI) has been selected by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to implement the Partnership for Economic Growth (Partnership) program in Somaliland located in Hargeisa, Bada Cas area. The Partnership program seeks to help local authorities and private sector groups improve the enabling environment for investment, generate more productive employment and improve other livelihood activities. One of the Partnership program’s initiatives is called the Partnership Fund, which is a matching grants program for local businesses in Somaliland. General Trade, Consultancy, Construction and Contracting Company (GETCO) has been selected for a business grant, which is intended to support the improvement of living standards for coastal fishing communities of Somaliland through the provision of marketing opportunities, trainings and support services such as ice, cooling system, and transportation.

DAI invites qualified local and international companies to submit a proposal to provide machinery for a complete fish processing plant as specified in the RFP under the USAID/Partnership for Economic Growth program (USAID Contract # AIDEEM- I-00-07-00009/AID-623-TO-11-00001). The fish processing machinery will help GETCO meet growing domestic consumption demand for fish and contribute to an expanding export of sea products to neighboring countries. Companies should have experience providing similar equipment in Africa or developing countries.
