KOFA GRAIN -pH 5- is an innovative, patented combination of active ingredients to reliably preserve grain and maize. The synergistic combination of sodium benzoate and propionic acid has a wide antimicrobial spectrum of actions against yeast and moulds.
In spite of its high effectiveness, KOFA GRAIN -pH 5- is not aggressive and only slightly corrosive. And since it is not a dangerous substance either, it can be handled safely and comfortably, provided that our usage instructions are observed.
KOFA GRAIN -pH 5- has a long-term action, because the active ingredient sodium benzoate is not volatile and is retained to a great extent during the storage duration. Even grain or maize with a high moisture content can be preserved safely and reliably up to one year (see table).
Feeding pigs grain treated with KOFA GRAIN -pH 5- enables them to build a barrier against harmful bacteria (E.coli, Salmonella etc.) in their digestive tracts, while lactic acid bacteria are spared.
In sows it lowers the urine pH and decreases the risk of womb infections. It has been proven to lower NH3 emission with fattening pigs, which improves the air in the pig house. This is reflected by a reduction in respiratory disorders.
KOFA GRAIN -pH 5- is interesting for turkey fatteners who want to feed maize and/or grain. Practical reports state that feed efficiency has increased and feces has become firmer, as a result of which there is a considerably lower need of litter.
