Natural feed ingredient containing Yucca schidigera
Micro-Aid® contains saponins, extracted from Yucca schidigera, which are well known for their ability to reduce ammonia evaporation and smell.Micro-Aid® also has other positive effects. For example, improvements of weight gain and feed conversion ratio in broilers.
Micro-Aid® for broilers, layers and turkeys
Micro-Aid® inhibits urease, which is an enzyme catalysing the production of ammonia from urea in the gastro-intestinal tract of the animal. As Micro-Aid® is not absorbed, it passes through the intestine of the animal into the manure where it continues to work. High concentrations of ammonia are toxic both to the animal and to the microorganisms in their gut. A reduction of ammonia by adding Micro-Aid® to the feed ammonia concentration in the gut as well as in the air. The effect hereof is improved air quality in in the gut as well as in the air. Due to enhanced nutrient utilization the effect in broilers is higher body weight (BW) and improved feed conversion ratio (FCR). Results from Danish trials in conducted with Ross 308 broilers are shown in the table. Additionally, incidence of ascites and overall mortality can be reduced.
Micro-Aid® has a positive effect on gut health by maintaining a healthy non-pathogenic population of bacteria within the intestinal tract.
There is no retention time due to Micro-Aid® not being absorbed from the gastro-intestinal tract.
