Swine
flu scare has a big impact not only for human health but most specially in the animal industry. Though it was already stated that there is no cross contamination from properly cooked carcass, people are now thinking of reducing
pork
consumption just to assure their security from the virus contamination. A reduction in pork demand will leads to low farm gate price of hogs making the farm owners to cut down their budget for feeds, medication and others. Thus, the feed premix manufacturers, raw mats importers and distributors are also affected by this problem. But the good thing here is that it will at least lessen the pork imports giving way for the local market of backyard and commercial farms. In a way there is a negative and positive effect from this pandemic disease, but still we need to be properly updated by information with regards to this issue.
