Information

The Recent Advances in Animal Nutrition – Australia conference is an event at which experts from the scientific community and leaders in industry have gathered for the past 34 years to discuss issues of importance to animal nutrition. Plenary speakers are encouraged to speculate on future trends and to explore new ideas, particularly across species and disciplines. This conference is unique in Australia in facilitating interaction between the commercial and research sectors of the animal nutrition community and in promoting discussion and debate on recent advances in animal nutrition.

The conference is hosted by the School of Environmental & Rural Science of the University of New England, Armidale and will take place at the School of Education on the university campus. The UNE campus is about 4 km from the centre of  Armidale, situated in the heart of the New England Tablelands of eastern Australia. A city of historical significance, Armidale boasts many fine architectural landmarks including magnificent cathedrals, churches and buildings, complemented by colourful pubs, restaurants, coffee shops, bookshops and quality gift and clothing shops, clustered around the central Mall.

2013 Conference Committee:

Bob Swick (chair), Roger Hegarty (co-chair), Paul Iji, Nerida Richards, Rob van Barneveld, Pierre Cronje, Frank Dunshea, Wayne Bryden and Elle Perry.

Prospective authors of short talks take note: Change in Presentation Mode

Due to the number of submissions received and limited space at the venue, the Organising Committee has decided not to hold a 15-minute short talk session. Instead, all approved submissions will take the form of three minute, three-slide presentations in the main auditorium, following which the the authors will make themselves available for further discussion of their presentations in the form of posters during an hour-long poster viewing session. Thus, all short talks will be replaced by posters.

We are still accepting submissions of abstracts. Please contact Pierre Cronje at editor@raan.com.au.

Conference proceedings

Plenary presentations will be published as full-length articles in a special edition of Animal Production Science, which will be distributed at the conference.

Short communications and posterswill be published as one-page abstracts on the Animal Production Science website and will also be distributed at the conference in hardcopy format. Please note: abstracts will not be processed for inclusion in the conference proceedings until registration fees have been received.

All submissions will be subjected to peer review.
