Improve International is pleased to announce the launch of a new and exciting two-day conference for Official Veterinarians (OVs).
Focusing on the theme 'Reducing the impact of notifiable animal diseases in the UK', this two-day event, run in association with APHA (Animal & Plant Health Agency), will be held on 22 - 23 October 2015. It will take place at Improve International’s UK office and training centre, Alexandra House, near Swindon in Wiltshire.
Offering great value, cutting-edge CPD for vets who work in this important sector, the event will provide 12 hours of certified training over the two days.
The main highlights of the conference are:
A stream of lectures on large animals which will run over both days, and include lectures and round-table discussions on Bovine TB, Brucellosis, Anthrax, Sheep Scab and other important diseases
Lecture streams dedicated to small animal practitioners, providing updates on export regulations and small animal exotic diseases
Lectures aimed solely at equine practitioners
An exhibition showcasing services and products relevant to OVs
Accommodation is available on-site and at nearby hotels. On the 22nd there will be an evening event with a table d’hote dinner, drinks and musical entertainment all included in the delegate rate. Places are limited so we recommend you book early.
The Alexandra House Hotel and Conference Suite is set in 20 acres of landscaped grounds near Swindon.
The Official Veterinarian Conference is a unique event held for the Official Veterinarian (OV) community. Run in association with APHA (Animal & Plant Health Agency), lectures will be delivered by a mix of APHA expert vets and scientists, plus respected private veterinary practitioners.
The aim of the conference is to bring together OVs from across the country and to deliver cutting-edge Continuing Professional Development (CPD) with 12 hours of certified training over the two-days. The latest developments and thinking relevant to all the OV qualifications will be discussed.
All OVs will be asked to revalidate their knowledge on a regular basis and a key component of this revalidation is undertaking CPD relevant to the different areas of OV work. There have been significant developments in disease control methods and export processes over the last few years and this conference will provide important, practical knowledge that OVs can take back into their practices.
With simultaneous streams – focused on large animals, equine, and small animals – delegates will be able to listen to industry experts deliver up to date and practical lectures which will have a positive impact on their work as an OV. Ranging from eradicating TB, to exporting a parrot, there really is relevant content for everyone.
All of these lectures will also count towards your CPD hours.
Held in an informal and relaxing venue, delegates will be able to interact and network with each other and with industry representatives and exhibitors during these two days.
There’s also dinner and entertainment on the Thursday night so plenty of time to relax too!
So in a nutshell:
The only OV conference in the country
Meet your fellow OVs
Gain CPD hours
Benefit from a relaxing and refreshing environment
