With great pleasure we have received on August 2006 the approval of the Official Delegates of the ALA (Latin American Poultry Association), granting La Havana, capitol city of our Republic, the honour to be the next venue for the XXI Latin American Poultry Congress, to be held on October 2009, under the motto “Food Safety: Guarantee of future”.

Veterinary medicine and zootechny studies challenges in presence of vertiginous development in poultry production. Its commitment with Food Security.

Objectives:

1.To call students and professors from high studying centers attention about de importance of poultry production and its future guaranty of supporting food security sovereignty in countries of the region.
2. To establish and entailment between the studies of veterinary medicine and zootechny to poultry production, as a guaranty of supplying valious human resources for a constant developing production.
3. To promote update in those subjects which are most important to current poultry nowadays to analyze sustainability in an accelerate growing production.

Models in high education from active teaching methods.
Creativity within the university classroom. Theoretical studies and practicing entailment.
Programming and evaluation by competent in veterinary medicine and zootechny Faculties.
New technologies applied to veterinary medicine and zootechny studies.
Academicals post graduated studies in poultry branch. University programs for academicals interchange  among teaching staff. (habitations, visiting teachers, special cathedras, post doctor studies)
3. Models of poultry production: Family or back yard poultry and industrial poultry. Sustainability.
Projects creation on sustaining production in poultry. Experiences as model.
Family poultry and its role in food security.
4. Strategies for economic control and impact of Avian Flu in developing countries.

Functions and responsibilities of poultry staff. Economic - administrative aspects.
