According to one research agency the level of online advertising being used by companies is set to soar over the course of this year, and this is said to be due to a number of factors.
Over recent years many companies have started to advertise their products and services via the Internet, and this has provided a cost effective and targeted way through which firms can reach their desired audience to raise awareness of their services or goods and ultimately increase sales and profits. According to recent reports the level of popularity when it comes to online advertising is set to grow over the course of this year for a number of reasons.
One research group has said that over the course of 2010 the popularity and use of online advertising and marketing will rise, and a number of factors are thought to be responsible for this expected growth. The growing number of people with access to the Internet through broadband connections, higher speed connections, and even mobile broadband are part of the reason behind this prediction.
Researchers also believe that social media sites will play a part in the rising use of the Internet for advertising and marketing purposes. Another factor thought to be responsible for this expected increase is the rising confidence amongst businesses when it comes to advertising and marketing online, with more and more firms realising the benefits of using the Internet for this purpose.
An official from the Internet marketing agency Adrac stated: "If the trend continues, 2010 could see further growth in the online advertising sector which mirrors the spectacular growth in the popularity of social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter. By using the social media sector as an advertising medium, online marketers are able to engage with a large number of web users and these particular sites allow advertisers to create engaging and entertaining advertisements."
